Expanding the Anadromous Waters Catalog
The Northwest Boreal Partnership is working in partnership with tribes, the US Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Alaska Department of Fish & Game to expand the Anadromous Waters Catalog (AWC). This project will pilot new smartphone app technology to expand coverage of the AWC, engage community observers in systematic data collection, and promote collaboration among state, federal, tribal, and community entities via shared work on data collection. These community-led data collection efforts will focus on a prioritized list of watersheds where anadromous waters are expected to change most rapidly and remain most stable in Alaska.
